Kimberly Russell lives in a tiny house in southern lower Michigan with Toby the Shih Tzu, who allows her to be his roommate.

Retired for four years, Kim’s day job was that of civil servant in the Michigan Department of Corrections at the local prison complex. She served as Warden’s Secretary under two female wardens in a three-prison complex of medium security inmates.

The highlight of Kimberly’s career was the role of Program Coordinator for the first inmate-dog training program in the MDOC. I got pretty excited when I pulled this book out of the packaging….it’s so, so thick and I do love a long book…except it had four stories. And they were terrific. Every one. And way too short!

Whimsical, clean, and wholesome….what’s not to love?

I adored this peek back to a time when life was simpler despite the challenges of post-World War II in rural Kentucky.

For me, a page turner is a book that I can't put down. Put off other tasks for "just one more chapter." To be sad when it ends and leaves me wanting more.

Maggie's Strength was one of those.

I have come to greatly appreciate this author's storytellin

"Some who read the title of the book will be perplexed and think, “I don’t think this is the book for me,” but they would be wrong. This is a book for everyone.
