She insisted that I write the story since she found it to be unique. I started writing "A Hundred Sweet Promises" in 2015 after I retired from working with the Environmental Protection Agency. It took me 6 years to finish the novel.(less)

The last time I visited Iran was in 2010, 35 years after I had left to come to the States for college, right before the Islamic Revolution of 1979. I went there to take my sons (ages 14 and 12 at the time) who were both born in the States, so they could see the country for themselves instead of what they were hearing from the news or when getting bullied at school.
