I have loved writing from an early age, but didn't like to show anyone because I was a very bad speller and didn't like the way people laughed at how I spelt things. My spelling improved and by the time I was in high school my favourite subject was creative writing.

In 1993 I discovered that I wanted to be a writer when my story about a fumble-brained funnel-web spider was printed in the school newsletter. Ever since, I have loved the ‘other worlds’ that words create, and my mission is to create these worlds for many years to come. As a casual primary teacher my passion for these 'other worlds' grew when using books to enhance student learning.

When I am not writing, I enjoy creating various forms of visual art and enjoy being in the garden.
