Thanks for reaching out! My inspiration for writing The Half Theft came, oddly enough, from watching too much tv. I am an avid fan of the show Gotham, and The Half Theft ended up essentially being my love letter to the series: combining the dark themes with a touch of humor, mystery, betrayal, and unlikely alliances :)(less)

I think the hardest aspect of writing, for me, is having confidence in my own work. It's been a struggle for me since I penned my first draft of The Half Theft. I have so much love for other authors' work that I often compare myself and I feel that I come up short. But I've come to learn that we all create different stories and my own will not match the next great story I read, and that doesn't mean one of them isn't worthy. Great books come in all shapes and styles. (less)

The Song of Achilles: A Four Star Review

I have so many thoughts floating around my mind regarding this book, yet somehow, every time I sit down to write them out, my mind goes blank. Suffice to say, I loved this story, so let’s give it a try.

I’m not really sure anyway if I can put into words the exact feelings I got from these characters and this plot. It’s a story I know, not particularly well but I’ve heard it in bits and pieces, gene

I've got severely mixed feelings on this one, friends. But, in the end, it's a yes.

While I love Dracula and the concept of Dracula and the movies I've seen retelling the story, its original form drags a bit. It had me in the beginning, completely. I

The very opening of the book really said let's take IT by Stephen King and retell it in Outer Banks. She's never going to notice. Sorry to ruin the fun. I did notice.

(This is super sad for me too, since I loved Miranda's The Perfect Stranger.)

Megan Miranda, I love you for this book.

What a masterpiece. It had me on my toes until the very end. While much of it felt like a typical thriller, there were many elements I would put more in the suspense category, which is another genre very near a

The beginning had me hooked. The middle almost lost me entirely. And the ending stunned me and had me reaching for Michaelides' next story.

Michaelides' debut novel was meh for me, until the very ending, where I was absolutely stunned and impressed and decided I must give him a second chance. Thank goodness for that.
