As both a reader and a writer, I'm a lifelong lover of the written word. As a child, we always had books in the house, and I came from a family of avid readers. My first inspiration to write in the romance genre came from the novels of Victoria Holt. Following a long newspaper career, I began a freelance ebook formatting business. Working in the book-publishing industry fueled my desire to write. My books cover a variety of romance sub-genres: World War II romance, contemporary romance, romantic suspense, historical mystery, and the supernatural. I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. ...more

Whether it was a place, pictures or music, I can usually rekindle the fire of my story by going back and becoming immersed in it again. Another thing that I do when I stall out on a certain scene is to move past it and write a scene that's further into the story. That happened with the last book, and I realized that I was stalled out on the earlier scene, because it didn't work and needed to be deleted.(less)

“One thing I always admired about Daddy was the way he could bounce back from adversity. From the very beginning of his life, he’d had more than his share of broken dreams and disappointments. He lived through the Depression, a war, a couple of failed businesses and the deaths of two wives, but he always found a way to pick up the pieces and go on.
When I’ve hit low points in my own life, I could hear his voice in the back of head saying, “Baby, you’ve got to roll with the punches.”
L.K. Campbell, The Life & Times of a Boomer Baby

A Psalm of Life

Tell me not in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.

Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou are, to dust thou returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destined end or way;
But to act, that each tomorrow
Find us farther than today.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act, - act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!

Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints
on the sand of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o'er life's solenm main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us then be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow , Voices of the Night

“If you love what you do and are willing to do what it takes, it's within your reach. And it'll be worth every minute you spend alone at night, thinking and thinking about what it is you want to design or build. It'll be worth it, I promise.”
Steve Wozniak
