A Good Man Waiting
The Noncommital Reader, Quick Stories for Busy People
A Good Man Waiting is one of the stories in my short story compilation; The Noncommital Reader, Quick Stories for Busy People. Here's an excerpt:
Nothing about him was real. From his rug to his spray on tan, the leathery old fart pontificating at the bar was a phony. Now the lush sitting next to him drooling in the peanuts, he was genuine.
Generally, I avoid dives. They’re dank, dark, depressing places with sticky floors. Unescorted females have a tendency to stand out. For tonight’s hunt, it was perfect.
“Those were the days when men were men. None of this mamsy pamsy equal rights and you’ve gotta be respectful nonsense.” He put his beer down so hard it splashed.
I told myself to be quiet, say nothing. It wasn’t going to happen. I know myself better than that. And silence is acceptance, right? At the very least it’s acquiescence.
***
Hope you liked it!

The Noncommital Reader
Two old friends struggling to survive stumble across an opportunity of a lifetime.
On her 25th wedding anniversary, Minuet decides she's had enough.
In Retrospect, the mistakes one makes in life can be fixed. Or can they?
Bernardo is a bad criminal. He's not bad, he's simply bad at being a criminal. Will his lucky underwear help the heist?
A newly minted Senator gets the tattoo she's dreamed of, never knowing it would save her life.
Eighteen stories await adventurous readers in The Noncommital Reader, Quick Reads for Busy People. My favorite is In The End.
What's yours?

Welcome
Welcome dear readers.
Goodreads is relatively new to me. What an excellent find! Possibly one of the best experiences I've had thus far in 2020.
My first book, Grip of Change, took years to write. Life happens, writing doesn't. I'll spare you the drama. Now I'm writing again.
My next book, The Noncommital Reader, Quick Stories for Busy People, is a compilation of short stories that range from old men finding a home to a giant butterfly threat. It will be available late September/early October.
When that's out the door, I'll return to Murder on Manasota and Air Kiss. Two projects already underway.
Thanks for reading!
