Melanie Nilles (aka M. A. Nilles) is an avid animal lover and resides with her husband, kids, and a clowder of cats who take advantage of their human slaves for food and warm laps. An equestrian of over thirty years, Melanie has trained and ridden all disciplines from race horses to cow horses and western show and speed events to jumping and dressage.

At the same time, Melanie (Mel to those who know her) has always had a fascination with science fiction and fantasy, and in 2015, she became an Active Member of SFWA. Her published works include the Starfire Angels series, Adronis series, The Luriel Cycle trilogy, and others. As M. A. Nilles, she writes darker fiction, including the Legend of the White Dragon epic, Tiger Born, and Spirit Blade.

That's right. I've been working hard to get the last of The Luriel Cycle trilogy out.

I've had a lot more to clean up on the manuscript than I had expected. It always is more than expected, but once I get into editing mode, I start to really rip things apart and rewrite. “You live, learn, and move on, and there are bumps in the road. Sometimes they seem like we're diving off cliffs without wings. But at least if we try to fly, we have a chance that maybe we can.”
Melanie Nilles, Broken Wings

“Yuck. In the dark of her room, she threw back her wet sheet and comforter and picked off her brown hair sticking to her neck and shoulders. Much better. The cold March night made her shiver, but after dreaming of fire and waking up soaked in sweat, she welcomed the cold. She'd welcome a hot shower in the morning even more.”
Melanie Nilles, Starfire Angels

Melanie Nilles Thanks for friending me, ladies! Sorry I didn't see your comments sooner. I don't often visit this page. A poor excuse, but honest. I am very grateful.

Sandra Thanks for friending me! :)

Lucinda Dear Melanie,
I would like to thank you so much for being my friend here on GoodReads. It is lovely to meet another fellow equestrian and Dressage enthusiast, who also is a fan of the fantasy genre! I very much look forward to future book discussions with you.
Kind Regards
Lucinda x
