The Day I Got The Call

January 23, 2008 was the day I got “the call”, the day I found out that Avalon Books wanted to publish my book, and I was sick. With a virus. Again. My entire system was clogged up with all sorts of phlegm hanging out in my head, sinuses, ears, throat, not to mention my nose. In fact, a few days later would be “the day” (not to be confused with “the call”) I went through 3 boxes of Kleenex in a 24 Read more of this blog post »

“Suddenly, it seemed imperative to plan his next steps with a steaming cup of tea at hand and his feet resting on the fender of a cheerful fire. It was far too long before he could make his thoughts a reality, but once he had changed into his dressing gown and bespoken a pot of tea, he thought he just might live.”

“The idea of a woman who preferred fishing rods over flowers as a gift rather intrigued him.”

“I choose to believe that I owe my very
life to you--ay--smile, and think it an exaggeration if you will.
I believe it, because it adds a value to that life to think--oh,
Miss Hale!' continued he, lowering his voice to such a tender
intensity of passion that she shivered and trembled before him,
'to think circumstance so wrought, that whenever I exult in
existence henceforward, I may say to myself, "All this gladness
in life, all honest pride in doing my work in the world, all this
keen sense of being, I owe to her!" And it doubles the gladness,
it makes the pride glow, it sharpens the sense of existence till
I hardly know if it is pain or pleasure, to think that I owe it

not believe man ever loved woman before.' He held her hand tight
in his. He panted as he listened for what should come. ”

Heidi Thank you so much Soph! I hope you have a fabulous New Year, as well! We had a lovely Christmas--my tree is still up, I'm not ready for it to be over. : )

Sophie And I Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year :)

Sophie Hello! Me again! Just to say i loved Lady Crenshaw's christmas!
It was a lovely little story showing Ginny and Anthony's happily ever after, and Anthony was such a sweetheart to his Ginny! I loved the reappearance of Lucinda and Avery, causing havoc as always! they were hilarious as were much of the story! I enjoyed curling up with a hot chocolate in a corner and reading this little Christmas story about two of my favourite characters, and with a lovely ending, as always (and how it should be :))!
:) Thank you! Soph xx
