Liane Carmen is the author of the Investigation Duo Series. After using DNA testing to solve her own family mystery, she became passionate about helping others and writing stories about buried secrets. She takes it up a notch for Jules and Becky, whose cases lead them down a much darker and dangerous path.

Her DVR is filled with shows from the ID channel, which she tries to reassure her boyfriend are merely “book research.” Her goal is to write novels that keep mystery lovers guessing, and if her Google searches ever come into question, she’d be grateful if her readers could vouch for her.

She’s an avid reader and a genealogy buff who’s been known to lose large blocks of time researching her family tree. She lives in Florida with her teenaged

I never want to put anything out there that's inaccurate. I went round and round with people who had IVF, websites, friends who are doctors. In the end, I did cut a lot of the detail just so as not to lose people who maybe weren't as interested in that part of the story. I was fortunate to not have to go through IVF, but I did have fertility issues and went through IUI. My "baby" is 17 years old now, but I remember so well how I felt as it felt like everyone got pregnant around me. I had first-hand knowledge of DNA and an adoptee searching for answers. And sadly, the dementia was based on a family friend. Quite a few chats with the family to tell that accurately. Again, I did cut some of that information so that it wouldn't weigh down the story too much.(less)

NEW RELEASE!

The Dark Inheritance, Book #2 of the Investigation Duo Series, released this week!

Book #1, Where the Truth Hides, released in May of this year.

The Investigation Duo Series is as much suspense and mystery as it is a story about the friendship of Becky and Jules. What I love about them is they're a little like all of us. They're not perfect and maybe even a little crazy sometimes. I mean, who hasn't Read more of this blog post »

3 stars for my feeling manipulated with where it went at the end. (Also for some plot points I was trying to overlook.)

This had me hook, line and sinker til the latter stage. I still cried but h" Read more of this review »
