Wilfredo Gonzalez was born and raised in the city of Rochester, New York. As you read Clay Hats, you will sense the love he has for the city. “The place you grow up in…it becomes as close as a family member to you. Thanks for the question.

Growing up in the city of Rochester, NY, I was impacted by people who engaged their communities by serving them in one way or another. I've participated in community events such as the gatherings in the book, and have witnessed the fruit of such efforts.

Such organized efforts to demonstrate the kindness and love of God are foreign to some people, believe it or not. A simple act of kindness can change a person's life.

I have also experienced the impact of prayer. That is why prayer, community, and courage are pillars in this story.
