Jaime Hardgrove was born and raised in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, making frequent trips to Northern Wisconsin with her family to visit her Grandma and Pop at their cabin in Marinette County. Jaime and her siblings frequently reminisce about the fun times they've had at the cabin over the years and that's what sparked the idea for her first book, JJ Goes to the Northwoods. The book is a fictional story inspired by her family's many trips to the cabin.

As well as spending time up north at the cabin, Jaime's favorite things include reading, running (especially through the woods), cuddling with her cats Jinx and Kali, and traveling whenever she gets the chance. She also loves her work as a reading teacher in a public elementary school in Wisconsin.

I will say that Aldo Leopold's "Sand County Almanac" has been on my list for a long time and I hope to read that one first this summer. I want to read it because I have a deep love for the environment, but also because Sand County is in my home state of Wisconsin, where Aldo Leopold spent many years of his life. (less)

I am a trail runner and in the wintertime, when the tree branches are heavy with snow, I often have to duck beneath them to continue along the trail. Whenever I do this I always think to myself that I'm entering Narnia and it makes my run even more of an adventure!:)(less)

JJ and I have been quiet lately! COVID restrictions are now lifted and we’re back in business. We have a lot of exciting news to share and plan to send out a blog post monthly.

For this month’s post, I’d love to share information about two local non-profits we’ve partnered with, both of which are focused on improving and maintaining trails and facilities within the Kettle Moraine St
