Quotes by Louise Worthington  (?)

“She trudges from one end of the day to the next until she opens a book and disappears inside. After the fifth Jenga-style coffee table of books, she sees she needs a place to go. The lounge may cope with another two tables – which she calculates to be around twenty books – but that’s only about another month of escapism.”
Louise Worthington, Distorted Days

“The memories of her marriage are like silt at the bottom of a water trough, stirred up by John’s departure to be with Lisa, turning them a murky green. If only it were just a matter of taking a tea-strainer to the silt.”
Louise Worthington, Distorted Days

“Since living alone, she’s taken to leaving post-it notes in case something happens to her when she is out of the house and no one knows where to find her. She has a drawer full; over time she’s found it’s possible to recycle them as she rarely goes to new places now that Godfrey isn’t around.”

Topics Mentioning This Author

“Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs;
Being purg'd, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes;
Being vex'd, a sea nourish'd with lovers' tears;
What is it else? A madness most discreet,
A choking gall, and a preserving sweet.”
William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet

“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest.”
Confucious

“I stood still, vision blurring, and in that moment, I heard my heart break. It was a small, clean sound, like the snapping of a flower's stem.”
Diana Gabaldon, Dragonfly in Amber
