I write in my kitchen cubby mostly, but when I'm out and about, I make notes on my phone when I think of things.
When I first saw my book published I felt joy, validation and relief. I was disappointed to see typos and formatting issues but since it was my first book, I forgave myself. I am continuing to revise the original and am on a 3rd edition trying to get the formatting right, (it transforms when you submit the file to the editor so even a perfect manuscript can merge words and paragraphs. Most people said they didn't care, but I do. People have come out of the wood work to tell me they have dysfunctional families and it's nice to know they're not alone and also that they can walk away from toxic people. Reflections on Covid19

I went out to dinner last night with some vaccinated friends. To my surprise, no one was wearing a mask EXCEPT for me. People weren't social distancing and the whole thing just felt strange, surreal.

I felt like I was breaking the rules and betraying my family.

I started thinking about my time in quarantine. For the first time in my life, I started to really notice birds. I slowed down and watched Read more of this blog post »

“All our lives, we’ve been taught to be good. To control our unruly desires. To punish our bodies and whip the animal into submission. Nobody ever told us that the animal is soft. The animal is vulnerable, and tender, and kind. The animal doesn’t deserve this. We don’t deserve this.”
