Greg van Eekhout writes books for kids and adults. He enjoys eating little tacos, walking along the beach, and practicing kung fu. About the kung fu: He's let himself get a bit slovenly, quite frankly, so please do not challenge him to a fight. He cries easily. He's a weeper. He lives in San Diego.

I've got a new long-ish short story in the osteomancy world coming out this fall in anthology that I don't know if I'm allowed to publicize yet, but once I do I'll be posting it on social media and my website. It'll probably take place a decade or two before CALIFORNIA BONES and feature a couple of characters who appear in the trilogy. And it's been out a while now, but there's another short story taking place in the Blackland universe up in podcast form at PodCastle.

Thanks for your question!

SCIBA Children’s Award luncheon talk

Last Saturday (10/20/18) I had the honor of giving a talk at the SCIBA (Southern California Independent Booksellers Association) trade show during the Children’s Awards luncheon. I talked about my middle-grade novel, Voyage of the Dogs, my relationship with dogs, and why I wrote the book the way I did. Here’s what I said:

I wrote a book about dogs on a spaceship, and I hope it’s okay if I spend...
