When she’s not making up stories to entertain herself with, MJ Miller can be found looking for ways to beat the southwestern heat. Usually traveling north to just about anywhere. Hobbies include baking chocolate things, eating chocolate things, and using a treadmill to remove the evidence. As the mother of two grown women she loves to write about daughters and sisters and all the tangled up relationships they tend to have, always believing the road to a happy life is filled with laughter. She and her husband reside in the balmy desert southwest with their Mensa qualifying cat, Darwin.

Each of these regions is distinct and has left indelible marks on my writing. The big impact for me however is that I'm not really a desert dweller. When I look out the window, I would rather see the ocean. Or a forest. Or a lake. Or anything but a cactus. So my characters get to enjoy the locations I'd rather be in rather than where I am. I escape my surroundings in my writing. (less)

To serialize or not to serialize?

Seems one of the latest rages in publishing is to serialize your novel. Chapter by chapter, publish once a week and keep the reader hooked. Now this works for digital publishing, but what about that paperback? Not so practical.
