The Christmas Creche's first day

Well, writers, you did very well, dropping the books off this morning with almost no tears - no tears from the littl'uns, that is. Abby, dear, we hope you had enough Kleenex for the ride home, and Scarlett, rest assured that little Santa Maybekept her mittens on when we played outside. In fact, I can assure you that everyone enjoyed their first day immensely.

Welcome to The Christmas Creche!

I am Miss Dewey, and I run the Christmas Creche, for all the books born in time for the holidays. I am thrilled to welcome the Winter Class of 2012! Just look at them. but I couldn’t figure out how to do that without getting icing on the keyboard.
So here are my calorie-free answers.

What
is the working title of your next book?

This is the rough cover idea

Happy Earned-Out-Your-Advance Day, Single in the City

© Invisibleviva | Stock Free Images

Today is a momentous day. Just 851 days after Penguin UK published my debut, Single in the City, it has earned out its advance!

For anyone not in the book business, this means that Single in the City has sold enough copies to recoup the advance that Penguin paid me.

Not that you have to pay back unearned advances. It's more of a milestone than a
