Final stretch
Not long before the final draft of my next book is done. I'm already going through some ideas for what comes afterwards :)

240 pages and climbing
I'd meant to make my second book smaller, and it will be, but it looks like it'll be heading towards 300 or more pages. I'm happy with the paragraph structure though, where I've been far more strict on myself than my first book.

So many ideas...
...and not enough time in the day to write them all down! :)

Still soldiering on...
While my first book hasn't exactly gone gangbusters (not really surprising as I'm a relatively known author) I'm still hard at work on my next one, which will be an homage to Dracula but with a slight twist towards mystery. In the meantime I've received my kickstarter copies of the second series of graphic novel adventures, so I'm looking forward to checking those out!

Next book on my reading list: Tales of Quahnharren Book 1
A book written by Michael Reilly, who if you didn't know is our resident interactive fiction journalist handling articles on the gamebooknews website. I believe he handled the illustrations too so I'm looking forward to having a good read of this one!

Finished reading the Jesse Wiley Oregon Trail books
These were from the 4 book box set which doesn't include the latest couple of others in the series. For the most part they are an entertaining read, and thankfully stick to the subject matter (no oddball extraterrestrial encounters or anything; this is strictly about the Oregon Trail). There is only one correct path per book, so take a wrong turn or pick the wrong option and you're kaput! Its often best to follow the advice of the trail guidebook located in the back of every book which will warn you about things such as what happens when you're face-to-face with a snake, which being that I live in New Zealand I never have to worry about! :P

My first blog post ever.
June 30th 2019 saw the release on Amazon of my first book, an interactive gamebook named "Children of the Painted Apple."
It is set in my home country of New Zealand and follows the main character (you) as a member of a unique division of the police force, where each of the officers has some ability or power which stems from a gene mutation caused by chemical spraying about 40 years earlier.
The book is basically science fiction, though I used a fair bit a local knowledge in the setting. There's a few twists and turns along the way and an inevitable "save the world" plot (what would you expect from a story about people with special powers?), so I'm hoping someone will get some enjoyment out of it. :)
