S. E. Steele was born in the South. Though raised poor on a small family farm, Steele attempts to use that upbringing to try and make a mark on the world through writing. Steele went to a small school, but excelled in the arts and was able to obtain a scholarship to a small liberal arts university. Using that education, Steele reinforces the writing with perspective learned there.

S. E. Steele enjoys nature. "I have a family of Blue Jays in the backyard. I feed peanuts to them daily. The father blue jay, who I named Reginald, is very boisterous. He scares away birds and squirrels who are bullies and keeps his family safe. I consider him a pet as he comes everyday, except during mating season."

Writing is an escape. You can escape to somewhere. It doesn't matter where you are. You can be on a plane. You can be sitting in a dark room with a cup of hot tea. Sitting in bed.

Or even sitting at a party that you don't want to be at and with someone that you don't want to be with, but you have a phone, or a piece of paper and a pencil nearby. You can pull it out, jot something down, and you can go anywhere you want to go. I am thankful for this ability.

If someone else gets something out of reading something I've written and enjoys it, then I am doubly blessed.(less)
