Patricia Ann Bowen started her career as a copywriter and has been writing nonfiction ever since, everything from catalog copy, speeches, articles in newspapers and magazines, grants, contracts, an e book, you name it. She’s also been a business owner, coach, marketing manager, and international relations guru.

Now she writes novels, novellas and short stories, mostly about women with complicated lives. She pens gardening articles for her local newspaper, and grants to support her local library. Her recent writing has appeared in the Table for Two anthology, The Sun magazine, and her book The Cure, a time travel medical tale, is her first try at speculative fiction. More is on the way.

I might work on more detailed outlining of the piece I'm working on, or brainstorm short story ideas, or journal my thoughts, as long as I'm writing something. The muse eventually returns from hiding.(less)

So many have led me gently by the hand through the maze of self-publishing, taken the time to read my drafts, and shared their knowledge of writing and book marketing. The act of actual writing is solitary, but I feel infused with the muses of my kindred spirits. Even many of the writers I've read but never met will never know how much they've contributed to my knowledge of the craft.(less)

I love the way KJM writes down-to-earth sassy women. Reminds me of Sara Paretsky's VI Warshawski. Her knowledge of the art world is apparent in this fast-moving tale which held my attention from beginning to end.

What a wonderful classic, in the shadows of Poe and Doyle. The locked room has never been more intruiging. Christie puts red herrings everywhere in her stories, and none is better than this.
