Usually something where the words really get me into a character's head or situation I'm wanting to write. Newest artists that have helped have been Machineheart, Shinedown, and Within Temptation...but that's been because I was writing some Assassins' Guild pages. The second Crystals of Syre usually requires more reflective music. I have been experimenting with healing tones. Really works!(less)

After working on acupuncture clients all day, it's nice to come home and let my mind wander writing in one of my books. Plus, I handwrite everything first so I can do it anywhere and don't need to worry about where an outlet is!(less)

Lindsey Cowherd I am an Indie author. My books are "My Texas Streak" ( Book #1 in continued series: A Colorado Cowboy Story); the Assassins' Guild of Obseen series (books Vision of a Torn Land; The Cost of Redemption, coming Fall 2019); and the Crystals of Syre series (Book #1 Awakening coming summer 2019; Book #2 2020).

I love reading fantasy/science fiction/Japanese manga. Really, I could lose a whole day reading something from one of these genres!

In real life, I am an acupuncturist, but I still find time for writing, watching almost anything Asian on Netflix, singing and playing guitar, but especially enjoying my two horses, Bricco and Tyrra, and two dogs, Ms. K and Huffington.

I started writing “novels” at a young teen; the Assassins' Guild of Obseen books being among the first I ever thought up that were beyond my normal obsession of horses. Turning to a world immersed in martial arts, magic, and “places not of this world” has allowed me an outlet from everyday living and circumstances out of my control. Now, they are a place to allow my imagination to run wild. In 2019, I also delved into the genre of cowboy romances and found I liked it! With so many possibilities to write about, it keeps my worlds alive and growing.
