Asiila Imani is an African American doula, midwife, editor and writer. She has a B.A. in Communications and two grown sons whom she homeschooled. She finally became a grandma and thoroughly enjoys spending time with her own “Oogie Boogie.”

Her essay, “Three,” was an entry in the anthology, LOVE INSHALLAH (Secret Love Lives of American Muslim Women).

Asiila also has a wee bit of an online presence with her short story, “This Brother’s Perfect for You; the groundbreaking and controversial essay, “Can Husband Sharing be a Feminist Act?,” and the series “The Chicken Chronicles” featured on the Muslim Homeschool Blog.
