Cops and Rubbers

Current mood:  bouncy

By A.J. Llewellyn

I am a Buddhist by choice, Greek Orthodox by birth, and I enjoy both religions and the wisdom I learn from both. I recently shared my deep anguish and frustration over dealing with relentless ebook piracy with my mentor at my weekly Buddhist meetings. I explained my side of things. I explained how I spend an hour a day combing the Internet to remove illegal uploads of my books.
"Remember something," she said. "That which you...

Do Cry For Me, Argentina

My beautiful niece and goddaughter, Eleanna, came to spend the night with me last night after telling me she needed bonding time.
At the age of 14, I reckon her parents and I are lucky she still wants to hang out with us.
I takes it while I can still gets it.
I have an eight year old nephew who is already telling his parents they are boring, so Eleanna is my shining hope that I am not hopelessly…well, boring.
In spite of a mountain of deadlines and my new macrobiotic diet I just knew she'd hate, ...

A Hundred Fires (Critter Nymph)

A Hundred Fires is the follow up story to Fire and Ice by authors A.J. Llewellyn and Stephani Hecht. To be honest, I was not looking forward to this story because of Angel. In the first book, this character totally rubbed me the wrong way. To me, he came across as very full of himself, thinking he was deserving of everything he wanted regardless of the results. The way he treated Cristiano made me want to smack him. However, in this story, as to be expected, the authors reveal what makes...

Creed (Chocolate Minx)

Creed is the second book in the Honeybone series. The well-written plot is set in New Orleans, Louisiana. The characters are developed and the love scenes are very sensual. Dean is a protector; his main focus is keeping both Kaia and Jean-Luc safe. He would rather send them away from him than keep them in harm's way. Jean-Luc is the caregiver, he makes sure Dean is on schedule with his medicine, as well as home-schooling Kaia so that she will be caught up when school is in session again...

Honeybone (Chocolate Minx)

Honeybone is the first book in the Honeybone series. In this installment, the events take place in Australia.

The incredibly talented A. J. Llewellyn has created a realistic story with a sinister theme that encompasses all of the emotions. The building plot is gripping, the intimate scenes are exciting. The crimes are mournfully realistic, so as to incite awareness of the dark side of humanity. This is an impressive cop thriller and I am looking forward to the next episode.

Fawnskin (Mystical Nymph)

It's an unusual and intriguing story that starts off normally when Knox arrives in Fawnskin looking for a job but it turns into something else, rather quickly. In the first three chapters, there are so many odd characters and goings-on introduced, I didn't know what to think. This is particularly true of the previously unknown to me orthodox Jewish custom of shomerim; the guardians of the souls…those individuals who sit with a deceased body to protect the soul from wandering away, and...

The House of Driscoll (Mystical Nymph)

House of Driscoll is the first release in a new dark fantasy/vampire series. It starts during the bleak and frightening days of the French Revolution and progresses rapidly to present day France.

There's a lot going on in this story and the relationships between the vampires are complicated, but once the set-up portion is complete, the characters, their relationships and the plot focus straightens out, making it easier to follow. The characters are numerous and the roles they play vary in...

Bonded (Critter Nymph)

The one constant in an A.J. Llewellyn story is that the main characters are never going to have a normal everyday-type romance. This holds true for Mingo and Francois from the Mingo series. You would think our heroes would get a little down time after surviving a hurricane, but no, the author throws these two right back into the deep end. With the arrival of Francois' ex, his teenage son and Mingo's mother's new boyfriend, Mingo and Francois battle one adventure after another. While the...

Tucked, Taped and Gorgeous

Current mood: blessed

Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Last night, I watched a re-run of Two and a Half Men, a show, I frankly admit to being completely addicted to. It is the best show on TV. I've yet to see a single un-funny episode.
My niece, Eleanna, whose parents are both men, watched the episode, 'Tucked, Taped and Gorgeous' (season 4 episode 21) with me. We laughed out loud at this particularly funny episode.
The action revolves around two brothers Charlie and Alan Harper (Charlie...
