I’ve always known I wanted to be a writer, finding my passion for reading in the Harry Potter books, and then later my love for young adult in the Twilight saga and The Mortal Instruments series. My first novel, A Curse of Thorns, is a self-published YA Beauty and the Beast retelling that takes place in an alternate past of France. I have also had a couple of short stories published: the first, called “Of Scales and Sorrow”, was published as part of a showcase on an author’s website, and the second was selected by YA author Megan Shepherd to be published in a collection, the Beastie Tales (mine is called “Brother of the Monster”). I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in English, and live in Southern California with my husband and ...more

Unsurprisingly, I was a bit busy in 2019. I started a new job and self-published a book, and it hasn’t been easy being the only person behind my published book witho

“I used to think that's what love was: knowing someone so well he was like a part of you.”

“It amazes me how easy it is for things to change, how easy it is to start off down the same road you always take and wind up somewhere new. Just one false step, one pause, one detour, and you end up with new friends or a bad reputation or a boyfriend or a breakup. It's never occurred to me before; I've never been able to see it. And it makes me feel, weirdly, like maybe all of these different possibilities exist at the same time, like each moment we live has a thousand other moments layered underneath it that look different.”

No problem! Thanks for returning the favour =) I'm anxiously waiting for Divergent to come in at the library; I've heard nothing but fantastic reviews for that one! My best book would probably be Lauren Oliver's Delirium -- I can't wait for Pandemonium next year!

Looking forward to sharing books with you!

Thanks Lisa, and I agree, totally torn. I went there today and they said they're getting taken over by a liquidation company, and that their sale on books starts tomorrow. The store I went to here in SoCal said they'll be staying until the 30th of August, but I'm pretty sure that date is nationwide.
