After a decade in the specialty automotive industry, Thomas Neel undertook a major life-change and became a fine art painter. Live An Artful Life spans Neel’s 30-plus years of experience as an accomplished artist with over 40 one-man shows to his credit. Having been a gallery owner, involved in fine art publishing, an educator and writer he has also written a monthly newspaper column called “The Artist’s Perspective” for 10 years. My best advise it keep a notebook or page of ideas and continually add to it. A creative appetite needs to be fed, either in meals of ideas or inspiration. So first ask yourself, are you creatively hungry? If yes, than look for food! Go get inspiration for the types of things that feed your hunger. Also, do not ignore ideas, write them down for those times that you food seems out of reach. Good luck! (less)

I love creativity. I really mean that. It runs in my veins like an unbridled horse, wild and free. When I was very young a pencil or a crayon was just as much fun as toys tapping into a boy’s youthful imagination as any to be found. As I grew I used them and words to therapeuticallyhelp as best they could with my parents' divorce.
