Rant [1081] "The Tower of Kartage (It's Here!)"
Good evening, everyone. The day has come, and the Tower of Kartage is available for sale.
So, for those who haven't been following my sparse updates on my personal blog, what is the Tower of Kartage anyway?
It's the first of (hopefully) four novels focusing on the origins of some of the primary characters in the Endgames game world. In this case, it pertains to Pirogoeth's apprenticeship and the beginnings of her training that would lead her to K...

Rant [1080] "Muffin Cart!"
MegaTokyo seems to bring out the arts and crafts in me. Carving pumpkins for Halloween? Some Darkly Cute would look good on there. Snow globes with a slot in the bottom so you can insert a photo of your grandkids? Sad Kimiko goes in there instead. Papercraft Macintosh computer? That just begs to be part of a papercraft ph34rbot. Child-friendly foam croquet set? That can be repurposed as the Girl Phase "Smack-o-Mallet". Chibi Godzilla plushie? One z...

Rant [1079] "Omnibus!"
If you've been following the blog over at Dark Horse, you've seen Carl Horn talk about the issue of Kodansha's Faust that contained a preview of MegaTokyo in preparation for the release of the full Volume 1 in Japanese in the Kodansha Box line. There are also some more photos of it that a fan posted at the time. In the last two photos there you can see the new comic that Fred prepared for the introduction. He was concerned that the unpolished art a...

Rant [1078] "Hatch and Replace"
One thing you may have noticed if you have read Megatokyo both online and in the dead tree versions is that there are quite a number of comics in the archive here that appear to be unfinished but show up in Megatokyo Volume 6 in finished, fully hatched and rendered form. Most of these were from the first year of having a new baby in the house and just getting a comic posted was a major feat, but i DID have to finish them for the book. As with many ...

Rant [1077] "Hobgoblins"
Ralph Waldo Emerson famously wrote "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds". Though it is apparently left to the reader to decide what counts as foolish or not foolish. If you web search something along the lines of "pictures to drive OCD crazy" you'll find some pages like this one with various photographs of things that are not quite right. It's interesting that some don't bother me at all, especially the ones that you can tell wer...
