Aoife’s Recent Updates

Mythago Wood by Robert Holdstock
"Enraging misogynist heaving bullshit. Won the World Fantasy Award in the 1980s. Why am I not surprised.

The premise of this book is that archetype creatures, mythagos, arise in the wood plucked from human minds. You will be staggered to learn that..." Read more of this review »

Unlike the two other Jess Faraday books I read, this isn't a lone wolf story. The heroine - Rosetta Stein, a translator, yes you can groan now - teams up with her brother Franklin (Frank for short, so he's Frank Stein, yes you can groan now) and his ...more

Well...this was The Affair of the Porcelain Dog but lesbian, with steampunk, in France and with an inexplicable Inspector Javert as side character. Which sounds like it would be very different but the bare bones are the same: lone wolf against the wh ...more

" Yeah it really sticks out...but I still enjoyed the book a lot (and there's nothing like it in the rest of the series so I'll just live with it XD) "

This book is everything.

Emma

Aoife and 16 other people liked Steelwhisper's review of The Escort's Tale:
The Escort's Tale by M.J. Edwards
"

Yes, indeed, I *saw* the word "escort" in the title.

To my defense, I keep reading escort books in the hope of - one day - finding one which acknowledges what it means to be a prostitute, what it entails, what it does to people and how it changes..." Read more of this review »

Kaora That is the book I was referring to. The cover is awesome. I'm a sucker for sea monsters. I'm still debating whether or not to request it.

Kitty (I solemnly swear that I am up to no good) Only just saw your cute pawing kitten on my wall now and it is sooo frigging cute, thanks for accepting my request :)
Here is another quick picture of a cat before we start very seriously discussing books...

Graham Parke Hey, great to have you aboard ;)
