Emily Bex is an avid life-long reader, and a first time writer of the epic six book Medici Warrior Series. As she says, “Why start small?” She worked for over twenty years in marketing, developing ad campaigns, catalogs, product launches and promotional literature. She figured if she could write creatively about products, then surely she could write something about these characters that were rattling around inside her brain. She currently lives in Virginia, but has used her extensive love of travel, both foreign and domestic, to create the backdrop for her characters to play out their story.

She'll ask questions, or offer suggestions, until I feel like I'm on the right path again. She types out the notes and sends them to me as a reference so I don't forget the details.(less)

The Evolution of Shade

The evolution of Shade was a collaborative effort. My friend Joanna, who had been encouraging me to write, had been a fan fiction writer who worked with a group of other writers. She had a vision for this character of an Italian warrior vampire named Shade, but her writing group never saw a place for him in the stories they were developing.
