John Singleton

RIP John Singleton. The director was gearing up for the third season of "Snowfall" on FX. I clocked out of Hollywood more than 10 years ago, but not before Singleton's work made an impression on me. I saw "Boys N the Hood" on TV, "Poetic Justice" at the drive-in movies, a rented copy of "Rosewood," and a home copy of "Higher Learning." "A Room for Dogs" will be released on August 25. This coincides with the new school year in the book. I mentioned the start date in a blog post last month, but it was an act of world-building intended not to state the book's release date outright. I've reflected the Aug. 25 release date in social media posts since then. I'll do the same for previous posts and elsewhere on the website.
