Danae Woods is an American author of contemporary fiction. Despite her mother's insistence and a five-year attempt by recruiters, Woods never joined the military following September 11. Her foray into creative writing began as a hobby during those years of job insecurity and homelessness.

"A Room for Dogs," to be released in 2020, is Woods' debut novel. A member of The Independent Author Network, she lives in Pennsylvania.

"The Ladies of Holderness" was likely out-of-print when I first read it as a teenager. It wasn't as thrilling to read for the first time since then, but doing so reminded me of why I tracked down a copy more than 40 years after its publication.

The poetic style of prose and multiple points of view made the book slow to digest. It became readable much later, but Kwon didn't disappoint; I finished "The Incendiaries" well satisfied.

Humorous and witty, with lots of twists and turns. Dr. Watan, a Hindu physician, travels with an Englishwoman who may be nothing but trouble for him in colonial India.
