"The Ladies of Holderness" was likely out-of-print when I first read it as a teenager. It wasn't as thrilling to read for the first time since then, but doing so reminded me of why I tracked down a copy more than 40 years after publication.

The poetic style of prose and multiple points of view made the book slow to digest. It became readable much later, but Kwon didn't disappoint; I finished "The Incendiaries" well satisfied.
