I create characters that I want to know in real life. I absorb their personalities and when their story is finished I walk out of their lives with a piece of them still living inside me. My life has been enriched by the fictional characters I've known.

I have been writing fiction and romance novels since the early 80s. I enjoy getting to know the characters that travel through me. It's kind of funny, but I learn a lot about life from my characters.

Having done a lot of traveling, I would swim from coast to coast and sea to sea to see the world's coastlines and marinas from the perspective of a sea urchin. Nora Roberts' Summer Cove because the book blurb sounded interesting, and I've read this author before; 2. Robyn Carr's The View from Alameda Island, because I live in the bay area so that was a draw; and 3. Deborah Moggach's The Carer, because my family is currently involved in caregiving to a family member. I'm eager to finish all three of these books, and looking forward to reading the two books by authors who are unfamiliar to me. If only I had more time in each day to read and write!(less)

My Book Boyfriends

A fun benefit that comes out of reading and/or writing romance stories is The Book Boyfriend. He's the guy you've always dreamed of knowing – you know the one: that perfect male specimen who rides in on his white stallion to save the day at the most perfectly timed moment.

Depending upon your preferences, he's charming, he dedicated, he's wealthy, he's generous, he's obviously drop-dead handsome, a Read more of this blog post »
