The best advice for an aspiring writer is this: fire up your laptop and start writing, and don’t look back, and write every day, and push on until you have a completed manuscript. This time they get involved after a spree killing in a day trading “shop.” Again this was a fascinating time, during the Dot Com boom, when ordinary folks would walk into a building, hire computers and software, and trade shares to their heart’s content. Nowadays of course anyone can doe this at home, online, but it’s still called “day trading.” I’m also working on a longer term project in an entirely different genre, a nonfiction history in the energy field.(less)

Set in atmospheric Norfolk, this series, now seven outings deep, is a keeper. Intriguing mysteries, excellent pacing, a great ensemble of characters, and a fine main hero in DI Tom Janssen. Kill Them Cold is one of the best ones yet.
