I was born and raised in Arizona, so I love sunshine, warm weather, and beautiful sunsets. I earned a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education, graduating cum laude from Brigham Young University. I enjoy musical theater and play classical piano and organ. I sing alto in the Timpanogos Chorale. My husband is a dentist and I have often been his office manager while I was raising our three sons and two daughters. I love to travel, studied in Paris, France, lived in Stuttgart, Germany, and taught English at UESTC in Chengdu, China. We live in Utah where I volunteer at the Mount Timpanogos Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have 18 grandchildren.

Put those two together, and there came my idea! I also had Nancy Turner in my home for a book club meeting where she spoke about writing "These Is My Words". Her journey made me hope that I could follow the same path.(less)

I enjoyed this well-beloved story of a young woman who braves the Canadian northwest to teach school and follow her dreams. I read and loved "Mrs. Mike" and this story had many similar traits, including adventure, romance and a heroine to admire.
