A master’s degree in social work helps her explore the depths of her characters and the repercussions of their actions. Inspired by the landscape of New England, she wrote Camouflage.
She is currently working on an adult fantasy set in the Medieval period.

Know the rules for writing a novel. It’s not good enough to tell a story. Well written novels follow guidelines.
Love criticism. It's great to hear when someone-particularly someone in the field likes your work but in my opinion it's the criticism that actually helps you improve.

Hopping!

It's almost Easter so this is a good time to talk about hopping...that's head hopping or point of view (POV) changing.

Books allow the reader to jump into the mind of the characters. The beginning of a chapter establishes who's "head" we are in. It is not good to change the POV character without a chapter change or a line break.
