Aaron D McClelland was born and raised in Vancouver, intimately familiar with the streets where many of his stories take place. Aaron has written professionally for 40 years, crafting stories, articles, and plays that other people wanted. Now he is writing for himself about a breed of people he's known his entire life in all their imperfect glory.

The women in his stories are strong and as imperfect as their male counterparts; they sweat, swear, laugh, and love deeply without restraint. If you want perfect characters, read someone else's books. If you want people you can relate to, read his.

Aaron now lives in a sleepy lakeside community in the Okanagan region of British Columbia where tourists come to die.

I can't go into why, but suffice it to say that it's a departure for me. It's about criminals (of course) but has great deal of mysticism and supernatural elements.

I know I promised 'Betwixt' for Hallowe'en 2019, but this project appears to have taken it's place.(less)

I'll plead the fifth - lol.

But seriously; some of the lesser crimes I write about are drawn from personal experience during my younger, wilder years; some I had intimate knowledge of through friends; and some are pure research. The sex-slave traders in That Dog Don't Bark for example was research, although I interviewed a number of prostitutes for a screenplay I wrote back in the 1980s. None, however, were in the dire straights that Kim found herself in.

Thanks for the questions, Tiffany – It's always heartening to interact with a fan!(less)

Is it ever over?  Sixth editing pass on Leaving Wonderland.  I'd copied a small snippet for a game on Twitter in the #WritingCommunity and noticed a 'form' that was supposed to be a 'from'.  Then I noticed a passive voice on the same page.  I thought I covered all of this in the first five passes.

Apparently not.

Back to page one, finding small bits of passive voice, weak words that needed stron

"Could not put this book down! I remember struggling with Shakespeare in high school, but this book modernized it for me. I won't drop any spoilers, but parts of Mac & Beth shocked and surprised me, and the prophesy was creepy.
