Not these days.

The problem is that paranormal romance went and got itself super popular.  So the romantic suspense genre...

"Richly Detailed" HEART OF VENGEANCE, Plus Another Review (They Keep Arriving!)

beautysbeasts msr 182x300 Richly Detailed HEART OF VENGEANCE, Plus Another Review (They Keep Arriving!)Siren Book Reviews surprised me with this very nice 4.5 star review recently for Teal's erotic urban fantasy romance, Beauty's Beasts:

Teal Ceagh's vampires are different in this story, for they are not so focused on bloodlust. Rather, they are more focused on everyday relationship problems that the century's old vampire might encounter. It was refreshing to see the more "humanistic" characteristics show through in these...

Vampire Powers – Part 2: Blood Drinking

Power of the Sun 225x300 Vampire Powers – Part 2: Blood Drinking Vampire PowersPart 2: Blood Drinking

The quintessential factor that makes vampires what they are is their fangs.  Stick a pair of dollar store plastic fantastic fangs in your mouth and smile and everyone knows what you're pretending to be.  No other prop is necessary.

A vampire's fangs are what pierce a human's flesh quickly and with the least amount of fuss.  Human skin is quite tough, and the membrane that protects the arteries is also surprisingly resistant.  A vampire needs something sharp ...

Henry1 This Week in 1100 A.D.Medieval romances tend to stick with the thirteenth century and the later medieval period, when knights glittered, ladies were pampered and chivalry was at its most developed and complicated.  Thanks to the third and fourth crusades, the battling Plantagenets (who had the coolest and most romantic family name on the planet, right there), a really sexy and ruthless French king, siege engines and some surprisingly advanced technology for the time and even more, it's hard to take your eyes off t...

It's Just A Job. Part 2, Centaurs

Centaurs

centaur by sandara 300x195 It's Just A Job. Part 2, CentaursWikipedia says that:

In early Attic and Boeotian vase-paintings, as on the kantharos (illustrated below left), they are depicted with the hindquarters of a horse attached to them; in later renderings centaurs are given the torso of a human joined at the waist to the horse's withers, where the horse's neck would be.

This half-human and half-animal composition...
