Hopeful fiction with a healthy dose of romance.

I fell in romance when I read Ned and Nancy (Drew) and Maryanne and Logan (The Baby-Sitters Club). I've been reading and writing them ever since.

A native Michigander, I love the water, all the seasons, and the University of Michigan football. I still live in Michigan with my husband and four fur babies.

The View from Coral Cove by Amy Clipston (book review)

In the wake of a broken engagement and the death of her last surviving family member, romance novelist Maya Reynolds moves to the haven of Coral Cove, North Carolina, to take over her great-aunt’s toy store. Some of her grief is immediately eased by imaginative eight-year-old Ashlyn Tanner, who talks her into adopting a kitten and inspires Maya to create a princess tea-party room in the store.

I've been a fan of Becky Monson for a while, but I've also been trying to discover new-to-me authors, so I haven't read her books in a while. I've been in a bit of a contemporary romance slump, though, so I pulled this up on my Kindle and prayed it w ...more

My first Amy Clipston book (which makes sense -- I believe she usually writes Amish fiction, which I don't usually read). The cover absolutely captured my attention so I had to read it.

I picked this book up because of the cover (yes, I do that). I actually started the book and stopped it because the opening is pretty heavy -- a young widow, a 12yo with cancer, and the deadbeat dad who comes back into her life.

Those opening chapter

Another fun story by Harper Lin. I think I like her books because I don't like too much suspense in a story and hers aren't overly suspenseful. You can also go several months between books without getting lost -- she spends quite a bit of time recapp ...more
