Etaski writes dark epic fantasy with an ever-broadening scope. Her stories genre-hop a bit, so things never get stale. She loves her sensual Dark Elves facing off with demons, mind flayers, and dragons, and adores her necromancers summoning the walking dead alongside dwarves in battle and high-stakes adventure. Found Family is a core theme throughout her world.

Her series begins underground with an isolated race of Dark Elves. The beginning is not for the faint of heart, and perfect for fans of entwined plots, challenging themes, immersive worldbuilding, and elements of erotic horror. Sexuality and inner conflict play into character growth with nuance, intrigue, action, and fantastical magic.

Her most inspiring epic stories are Neil Gaiman's

I get moving.

I'm an introspective introvert. My body and mind are not always explicitly aware of each other when I'm thinking, but they are nonetheless always linked. It's not exercise, though. That's high body stress, and it takes concentration. I can't exercise and write at the same time. Movement for my writer's block is automatic, where the ideas can still happen. It's walking, cleaning, traveling long distances, dancing in my living room. Accompanying music also helps.

I walked long distances growing up--I was one of the few kids I knew who walked 2 miles to and from school during good weather because I preferred to be alone thinking than take the bus. That's probably where the "movement = idea flow" came from, and it's been able to shatter any writer's block so far. I've proven to myself that a moving, healthy body helps when my mind gets sluggish, stressed, or blocked.

Big Changes Complete!

Hello!

Feels like I’ve been “in transition” ever since last year, and I guess I have been, all for the benefit of the long-haul after spending a decade adding word count to Word docs.

Once again, I’m starting over, but at a different point on the field. It’s a good thing. 😊

"Into the Depths" is an imaginative, quick read, a novella which completes its full story in a low-stakes scenario. Very relaxing on account.

I enjoyed the mythical predator-prey premise which touches a bit on why some people (like me) enjoy scary mov
