If you've never read, I believe it's a classic Aussie picture book with whacky places like Alice In Wonderland. I'd just sit and watch the world go by. Might get another interesting idea for a story ;)(less)

For me, I create several short story events with the same characters. Whether it be running away from something, robbing a bank, eat at a luxurious restaurant, I will always note down little events that my characters can experience. This is for fun and to make them more real in my head. But when I reach my own writer's block, I'll pick one of these short stories and implement them within the overall narrative.

Another way to overcome writer's block in my personal opinion is to lay out the options and any ideas or plot points you want to make. If you want your characters to go sky diving or one of your side characters to get lost, think about the development it offers to both your protagonist and the audience. Always have other options, other opportunities that may change the story and plan ahead, leave foreshadowing and minor lines of dialogue that juxtapose later events.

Worse come to worse, reevaluate the chapter you may be stuck on. Reread it and find out what has made you stop. Change minor things and constantly bring them up again. Like the colour of a character's eyes or a signature move. If nothing comes up in your mind, think about how you can further develop your characters. And think about the possible conclusion of your book. How will it end? Once you know its ending (which is no easy task) than you should be able to put the pieces together and get out of your writer's block.(less)

One Year Anniversary

WE DID IT! 🎉❤️🎉

Today is the one year anniversary of The Gifts of Life. One year ago today on July 21st, 2018, a few weeks before the trial HSC exams, I released my first book online on Amazon and Booktopia. It has been a very mixed year, with some months selling much better than others and many different highlights such as my signing days, the times where I was in the newspaper and that incredible Read more of this blog post »

“It’s the feelings you feel. Happiness and fear and—and love. The emotions you shed. It’s the memories you create with each other, with the people you love and the people you call friends. It’s your talents. Your empathy and sympathy. Your optimism. Your compassion. The pureness of your soul. All the things that make you you. Your inner strength, your heartbeat. Your smile and the people that are around you. The ones who care. The things that give us purpose. Those are the Gifts of Life; the things that define us as individuals — Odd.”
