April TBR

A mixed romance sort of month, minus my continuing HP reread!

THE LIST

I'M CONTINUING MY REREAD...

For Twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.

Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter's defeat of You-Know-Who was Black's downfall as well. And the Azkaban guards heard Black m...

ARC of Twisted Love Review

Twisted Love (Twisted #1)By Anna HuangOriginally Published April 29th, 2021Dual POV, First Person

Twisted Love is a Contemporary Romance book that is befitting of its title. Full of twists and turns, this first book in a new series by Ana Huang is full of tension, lust, and dark secrets. Dual POV, we follow sweet Ava and troubled Alex as they find comfort in one another, both with pasts they have yet to reconcile.

New Adult romance, but it has darker themes and while it definitely isn't a Maf...

Prisoner Review

Prisoner (Criminals & Captives #1)By Skye Warren & Annika MartinOriginally Published October 22nd, 2014Dual POV, First Person

Prisoner is a steamy and dark Captive Romance by Annika Martin and my favorite Dark Romance author Sky Warren. While #2 in the Criminals & Captives duology is my favorite, Prisoner is a book I find myself rereading a couple of times a year due to its fast pace, spicy scenes, and tempestuous romance between the two MCs.

Abigail is a shy and troubled young woman tasked w...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Harry Potter #2)By J.K. RowlingOriginally Published July 2nd, 1998Single POV, Third Person

PLEASE READ:

A friend of mine is doing a Harry Potter reread and I said I would join her. Harry Potter holds a very near and dear place in my heart due to the escapism I was able to achieve as a kid growing up in a not so happy childhood. I absolutely hate what Rowling has become, a beaco...

My Audiobook Organization Obsession

My friend is rereading the Harry Potter series and has reached Order of the Phoenix. Like so many others, she is already dreading the read. I personally love OOTP, but I am well aware that it is a tedious, slow read. I actually refer to OOTP when talking about the certain book in other series that serve as a pivotal point to set up for the rest of the books, the ending of said series. OOTP is a set-up book, the one that Rowling put the most effort into (in my opinion) for the rest of the series,...

March TBR

It's my birthday month, I am also trying to get back into doing more consistent writing bursts because I am sick of this feeling of being "stuck" mentally when it comes to writing I know I need to be doing *cough cough* THOAC 2 *cough cough*. This means I may be sluggish reading if I'm focusing my time on writing, so I'm not doing a advantageous TBR this month...

THE LIST

THE FINAL BOOK RELEASED AND I WISH TO DO A SERIES REREAD BEFORE I TAKE IT ON.

Dubious Review

Dubious (The Loan Shark Duet #1)By Charmaine PaulsOriginally Published October 12th, 2017Dual POV, First Person

I read a lot of Dark Romance, and spend more time than probably healthy imagining moving to a city that has actual Mafia and seeing if I can snag a made man. Obviously, I'm joking (mostly). But, my point is I read a lot of Mafia Romance and after finishing this book I am not sure where to even begin.

Let's talk about characters. Gabriel is a loan shark with a dark reputation for bro...
