Moving
This week I was only able to listen to Audiobooks, my schedule has been all over the place. I'm getting ready to move in August and it's going to be a costly and exhausting experience that I am NOT looking forward to. What I am excited about, is having my books back. My poor babies have been in boxes for almost a full year and I have been going slowly crazy.
For those that don't know, I've been planning to move to Dallas for a long while now. Unfortunately, the year I had planned to do so, COVI...

The Bride Test Review
The Bride Test (The Kiss Quotient #2)By Helen HoangOriginally Published May 7th, 2019Dual POV, First Person
The Kiss Quotient was such a cute and enjoyable read that I had high hopes for The Bride Test and, luckily, it did not disappoint!
This sequel was as lighthearted and quirky as its predecessor, but I found that the culture shock of Esme moving to the states from the slums of Ho Chi Minh City added a kind of depth, to an already diverse book, that The Kiss Quotient didn't have. I still, ...

Back in the Burbs Review
Back in the BurbsBy Tracy Wolff & Avery FlynnOriginally Published March 30, 2021Single POV, First Person
I've always found the HOA to be absolutely ridiculous, so when I read the synopsis for this book about a woman who takes on the HOA and has a bit of an enemies-to-lovers romance with her hot neighbor? I was sold!
Mallory's life has taken a complete nosedive. She catches her crappy husband in the act with his assistant, the divorce is going to leave her with nothing, her conservative parent...

The Duke Heist Review
The Duke Heist (The Wild Wynchesters #1)By Erica RidleyOriginally Published February 9th, 2021Dual POV, Third Person
This book was a fun read with an unruly, exuberant cast of characters. More diverse and inclusive than most Historical Romance tends to be, Erica Ridley has written the start to a series that promises lots of ridiculousness, heists, and soft romance.
I didn't find this book dark, even with a couple of backstories being bleak at times. It's a very light-hearted book with mostly...

Writing Platforms
I got asked today on Instagram what program I use for writing. It's an easy answer, but one I believe needs a bit more explaining than just "I use Reedsy".
Yes, indeed that is the easy answer. I use a completely free online program named Reedsy. It's a veritable goldmine for Indie authors and freelancers within the bookish professional world. Basically, you just sign up, create a new book, and then get to work.
The interphase is super neat and organized and very easy to manage. It also allows ...

Bed of Flowers Review
Bed of Flowers (Sweetness and Light #1)By Erin SatieOriginally Published June 19th, 2018Dual POV, Third Person
I read so many Historical Romances that they all start to blur together into the best kind of serial escapism one can ask for. But, every once-in-a-while, I read one that jolts me out of my salacious scandal stupor, and it makes me notice it. Bed of Flowers was one such book.
I don't think it is officially advertised as such but I considered this book a retelling of the Beauty and th...

Brazen and the Beast Review
Brazen and the Beast (The Bareknuckle Bastards #2)By Sarah MacLeanOriginally Published July 30th, 2019Dual POV, Third Person
I read Wicked and the Wallflower, the first in this gritty series, and I liked it well enough. But I loved this one leagues more!
Felicity and Devil were an interesting couple in book one, but Hattie and Beast take the cake and eat it too. Their dynamic and rivalry culminated in such an angsty, intense book! Hattie was such a driven and relatable character. She wants t...

Battle Royal Review
Battle Royal (Palace Insiders #1)By Lucy ParkerOriginally Published August 17th, 2021Dual POV, First Person
I received an ARC from Avon publishing!
This book was such a fun and emotional ride! The Great British Bake Off meets Sally Thorne's The Hating Game, featuring a quirky and sweet romance that goes from enemies-to rivals-to lovers.
Sylvie was a fan favorite on a baking show four years ago, ultimately voted off by the brooding and arrogant judge, Dominic. Now, she's got something to pro...

Kind of all over the place this month ....
THE LIST
I am a weed.
Unloved by my abusive, alcoholic dad. Unwanted by my classmates. Unnoticed by everyone else.
But I’d suffer anything to give my kid sister a better life—the minute I turn eighteen, I’m getting us the hell out of here. And some hot stranger telling me I am the key to stopping a war between Heaven and Hell isn’t going to change that.
Let the world crumble and burn, for all I care.
Draven is relentless, though. And very much a liar....
