Very humane. Everything is so logical. Both nature and nurture are at work, but the role of the former is negligible. "Mom had a great influence on me." says that we are not nurtured, but grow by being influenced from everything around us. Maybe the only inducer of decay and decadence is the normalisation of everything related to life, thus the anormalisation of many others by the monster cal Read more of this blog post »

Douglas Adams
“What I mean is that if you really want to understand something, the best way is to try and explain it to someone else. That forces you to sort it out in your own mind. And the more slow and dim-witted your pupil, the more you have to break things down into more and more simple ideas. And that’s really the essence of programming. By the time you’ve sorted out a complicated idea
into little steps that even a stupid machine can deal with, you’ve certainly learned something about it yourself. The teacher usually learns more than the pupil. Isn’t that true?”
Douglas Adams, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Svetislav Basara
“Generally speaking, a web of great mystification has been woven around time. Above all, the mystification about the ostensible objectivity of time. Utter nonsense. Time is a completely subjective matter, but every person is not a subject, and that is the problem. Timepieces are perhaps exact, but time is not, time is a matter of personality, or even of affinity.”
Svetislav Basara, The Cyclist Conspiracy

Douglas Adams
“The Electric Monk was a labour-saving device, like a dishwasher or a video recorder... Electric Monks believed things for you, thus saving you what was becoming an increasingly onerous task, that of believing all the things the world expected you to believe.”
Douglas Adams, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
