Broken

My heart aches
To be with you;
How do I make it understand
You are not mine to own?

My eyes wish
To capture you in them;
How do I make them understand
You are not theirs to hold?

My ears yearn
To listen to your voice;
How do I make them understand
You don’t speak for them?

My mind urges
To flow towards you;
How do I make it understand
You are not my shore?

My lips long
To sing for you;
How do I make them understand
You can’t hear its song?

My fingers crave
To weave poetry for you;
How do I make them understand
You don...

I Know, But Still…

I know,
I don’t need you
To survive;
I can live on my own.

I know,
I don’t need you
To love me;
I can love myself.

I know,
I don’t need you
For company;
I can keep myself busy.

But still,
Sometimes I feel like making
My nest within your heart,
And return to my home
After a hard day’s work.

Letting Go…

I haven’t felt this broken
Since a long long time.
I wasn’t ever healed;
But so hidden were my wounds,
That I forgot how it felt
To be broken again.

But then life couldn’t leave me alone
And brought its struggle along.
I strived and strived and strived:
To fight, to resist, to heal;
Nothing worked,
For a lost battle it was.

And so here I am
Broken, once again.
But this time,
I am numbed by the pain.
I don’t feel it as I felt before…
Is this healing?
No, it’s just letting go.
