Hi, I’m Tess Burton, a YA Fantasy writer and author of the upcoming SORENSTORY series.

I have a really bad habit of juggling 4-5 current reads at the same time, and they're usually 500+ pp reads, so it feels like I almost never finish them. Can anyone else relate?

MY 5 FAVOURITE READS OF LOCKDOWN #1, 2020

As we careen gracelessly into Lockdown 2 here in the UK in the year of our Lord 2020, I see a lot of people pledging to use their newfound free time to engage with their hobbies. Reading is definitely up there as a top pick, which had got me feeling reminisce-y. So I thought I would look back on some of the cracking reads I devoured during our first 2020 lockdown, and maybe give some of you out th Read more of this blog post »

Tess’s Recent Updates

Tess Burton is on page 297 of 514 of The Mask Falling: I think the issue I have with this book, the whole series really, is that it feels about 95% plot-focused, with very little time to sit with the characters. They are great at acting, but we never see them *reacting*. I can imagine this story reaching a whole new universe if it embraced deep POV, but as it is it just feels like it’s sold itself a bit short.
