Contemplation
Over the last several months, I have been teaching, writing, and working on my book promotions. This new phase of my life has been exhilarating and nerve-wracking at the same time. So as a way to find my zen, I have been looking at my social media and the like, and I just want to share my current details. Facebook: 653 followers, Instagram 1120 followers, Twitter (the last of my big three) 586 followers. I also have nearly 1000 on my newsletter list.
It's not huge. It's peanuts compared to many other writers, but for my limited scale (at least for this semester - taking on the extra teaching load has me burning the candle at both ends!) right now, I am so stinking proud. But more so grateful. Grateful people read what I write. Grateful readers want to comment on my writing, read more books, and follow me. Grateful for a dynamic, involved community of writers that offers advice and recommendations and support. Grateful for a family and friends who do take my baby-steps writing career seriously.
Once I get through this semester, writing will be on like Donkey-Kong. And I am so excited to see what happens next. [image error]
