My name is Sara, and I’m an eccentric, sometimes shy, sometimes crazy, animal lover, indie-author, musician, etc. etc. etc. from Toronto, ON. But, I wasn’t always from Toronto, I actually grew up on the West Coast of Canada, on Vancouver Island. I have two wonderful dogs who are my pride and joy (no children yet), and I have no idea what direction my life is taking me anymore.

One day I woke up and I said, I’m tired of being unhappy. And from that morning forth, I’ve been on this journey in search of happiness no matter the direction, no matter the result…

What I’ve learned so far is that money and material things can only make you so happy. True happiness comes from within, and if you’re emotionally or spiritually sick, then no amount of ma

Participating in online writing groups, reading books, listening to different kinds of music, preferably classical, piano, or orchestral pieces... Switching from writing on my computer to writing with pen and paper... Even changing writing locations, for example, instead of writing at my desk, I'll move to my spare room or backyard. (less)

As writers, we need to accept the fact that some people are just going to hate every waking minute of our work and probably will bash us with a terrible review (which hurts a lot). But, that's okay. There are going to be lots of people who LOVED it. People who are in love with our style, our words, and the story we tell. Besides writing because we love to write (duh), those people who connect with our work make all the rejections, stress, and rollercoaster emotions worth it. :)(less)

Ariella paused, holding her breath as the darkness shifted. She squinted through the impenetrable gloom; in a few more steps, she’d be at the bottom of the stairs which led up to the study.

She slowed her pace. Stairs, ground, wall, stone. Shadows

I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It was jarring to be reading in first person present tense but after a few chapters, I got used to it.

The build up was great, lots of suspense, and very good world building, however, I was slightly dis

A powerfully descriptive book.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but I was not disappointed. A slow-build fantasy packed with thought- invoking descriptions that's developing plot surprised me page after page. It was darke

“But, if for some reason we're not closer, if something has gotten between us, please, I'm begging you…don't give up on me. Stay. Stay with me. Work it out with me. Just don't leave me…please.”

“What if I don’t choose you, Kellan? What will you do?”
He looked away, a tear rolling down his cheek. “I’ll leave, Kiera. I’ll leave, and you and Denny can have your happily ever after.” He looked back at me. “You wouldn’t even need to tell him about me. Eventually, the two of you…” his voice broke and another tear fell on his cheek, “the two of you would get married, and have children, and have a great life.”
I fought back a sob. “And you? What happens to you in that scenario?”
“I…get by. And I miss you, every day,” he whispered.”
S.C. Stephens, Thoughtless

S.C. Stephens
“I think in the end, you would have stayed with me, out of obligation...or maybe comfort. Maybe I was safe to you, and you needed to feel that. I know how scared you get of the unknown. To you...I must be kind of a security blanket. Do you see now, how that doesn't work for me? I don't want to be there, simply because the idea of me being gone is too...scary. I want to be someone's everything. I want fire and passion, and love that's returned, equally. I want to be someone's heart... Even if it means breaking my own.”
