Thank you for asking, Diane!

I plan to have a local launch in Asheville, NC on the publication date, as well as a few signings in the months that follow.

My publisher, Inkshares, will take care of bookstore placement and a press release will be circulated to various outlets. ARCs are in the process of being printed, and will be shared in the coming weeks.

I also share updates on my twitter account (@JCastleWrites), and will plan to host a Goodreads giveaway in the month of August. (less)

Some days, I challenge myself with a timer, set it for twenty or forty minutes, and force myself to write until it beeps. Some of my best scenes have emerged that way, and often I shut off the beeping and keep on writing. Other days, music does the trick. I have a playlist I turn to when setting the mood for particular scenes. I also find that when I read for ten to twenty minutes before I start writing, that I am more inspired and ready to write. "Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Slaughterhouse Five: Commentary on societal demise isn’t new, but The Seclusion nods to the classics while discussing right now. (Honestly it’s so relevant I had to put it down multiple times because it hit t..." Read more of this review »

“I knew the fear was necessary. Fear protected, fear ensured survival. Fear was the evolutionary instinct embedded in each of us, the instinct that told us to freeze when we heard a rattlesnake, or halt when we came to a cliff’s edge. Yes, the Board used that fear, but it was worth the price. Security was our reward.”
