I'm a retired secondary teacher and have been researching the murky convict past of my family tree for many years. The history was very well hidden by preceding generations, even with older family members vehemently denying any convict connections.

My perseverance gave voice to the long buried and long forgotten souls who were transported to the other side of the world as a form of punishment for minor crimes. In recognising them, I've given them permission to tell their stories in the first book of the Cullen/Bartlett dynasty, "No Room for Regret".

No Room for Regret by Janeen Ann O'Connell
"This book is difficult for me to rate. I definitely enjoyed it at times, but then I found that I was exasperated by it at others. It's listed as a historical fiction and it definitely qualifies, but it is most certainly a romance novel as well.Read more of this review »
