Luke is author of older children’s fantasy adventure books, ‘The Mirror and the Mountain’, 'The Forgotten Palace' and 'The Last Dragon Rider'. He was first published in 2018 by Lion Hudson. His books have often been compared to C.S. Lewis' Narnia Chronicles and despite being targeted at Children are enjoyed by many adults too.

He's a country boy, having grown up in the New Forest, in the south of England, but he's spent most of his adult life living in cities. Nonetheless, he loves getting out into nature in his self-build camper-van for wild-tea drinking and writing. He currently lives in Bristol where he is undertaking doctoral research.

Hearing their thoughts and feelings having read my books is a huge privilege. My Presadia series has also taken me into many schools and I have particularly loved speaking with younger dyslexics about how dyslexia needn't be a barrier to writing or storytelling. I consider it my greatest strength as a writer! (less)

Don't write because you want to become a famous author or make loads of money. Write because you enjoy it, because it's fun. Write what you want to write and try not to be too concerned about whether you might make it as a writer. I think our world is too focused on consumerising any passion or interest and this can such the joy from it. Some people make it and others don't. There doesn't seem to be a magic formula and if there was I think it would take something magical from the storytelling process. Obviously if you get published and it's a hit, that's great. But life is more than success, recognition or money. (less)

I read this while on pilgrimage to Assisi last summer. I found myself really enjoying the narrative style. While sometimes a little contrived in order to semi-systematically explore various aspects of Franciscan wisdom, it was never too much that I f ...more
