Traumatized as a child by the haunted house at the Minnesota State Fair, McKenzie Rae decided to take that fear and use it to write as many twisted, spooky, and mysterious tales as she could think of. As a result, she is still afraid of the dark, and some nights, she is convinced that a monster is under her bed. But that could just be her cat.

Rae is still trying to figure out how the real world works, so she creates fantasy worlds where anything can happen. The Dysfunctional trilogy were the first three books she ever published. Sometimes, I just need to see a story with fresh eyes to get over writer's block. If I don't have the time to put a story aside, I just force myself to write a little bit more of it each day, even if I'm not sure that it's good. "The best part about this book is definitely the turtles.

This wasn't bad, but I wouldn't recommend it, unless you're hankering, like I was, for something reminiscent of entertaining-but-somewhat-campy late 80s and early 90s sci-fi TV. I could just im" Read more of this review »
