“she learned words that rolled from her tongue when no one was listening. Firns and striations. Cirques and moraines. Adulation. Sublimation. She fell asleep to their music, and she woke to it. Chatter marks, eskers, and drumlins. Truncated spurs. Corries and tarns. Kames. Eolian loess. Katabatic winds.”

Deb Vanasse Wow! 637 entries in the Goodreads giveaway for Out of the Wilderness, with books headed to five lucky winners all over the country. Today's the last day of the "Summer Solstice" special for a free Kindle edition, and the softcover is now available on Amazon, too. Happy reading!

Deb Vanasse Happy Solstice! My acclaimed YA novel Out of the Wilderness (grownups like it, too!) is FREE June 21 & 22 on Kindle; also Goodreads giveaway for the softcover ends June 22.

“Never mind those Alaska reality shows—this is the real Alaska. Deb Vanasse writes with the authority of one who’s been there, her prose as fresh and piercing as a winter sunrise. As one of her characters tells us, ‘once you’ve been in the wilderness, a part of it will always be with you.’ This coming of age story, like the Alaskan wilderness, will leave a lasting mark on those it touches.” Debby Dahl Edwardson, National Book Award Finalist, My Name Is Not Easy

Buddy Guy I used to be a member of Goodreads many years ago. Or what seems like many years ago. Thanks for reminding me about this site again.
